A very steep, loose 4WD track climbs the front face of the Hawkdon Range from Home Hills Road to Walking Spur. If you're driving, this track is best done as a descent unless you have a well set up vehicle, as it's very easy to dig holes n the loose scree ascending. If you're walking this is a long climb through a spectacularly barren rock and scree landscape. Note that the lower section of the track passes through an army firing range, so stick to the track.
