A picnic area and toilets 500m south of the Ballance Bridge. Eastern end of the Manawatu Gorge walkway.

200m south of the picnic area is the start of Hall Block Road (name on signpost differs) which climbs to the Northern end of the Tararuas. .

200m further south is the Ballance Cafe sells the last lattes and scones before the northern Tararuas. A track along the riverbank connects the cafe and the picnic area.
