The junction with the well travelled track along the N-S main range (MR) is obvious. Unfortunately, the first kilometre west of pt. 734 is a confusion of high-points but good navigation & following the triangles marked 'To MR' will lead you west down a gentle spur towards Kohuru Stream (upstream of Lances Hut). The bottom of the spur is steep & brings you out at a fork in the stream. Head downstream (the TR & eastern bank) to Lances Hut where you will cross a side stream just before the hut.
