From the Reticence confluence, continue down grassy / shingle flats on the true left, picking up an old 4WD track on flats after the first section of beech. The track leads past Dodger Hut, located on the bushedge on a small terrace above the flats.

AN old 4WD track heads up the Hopkins from Dodger Hut, petering out as it reaches beech at the head of the flats. From here follow the riverbed / grassy flats a further 1km to the first major sidestream draining from the east - the creek draining Mt Reticence.
