Leave the Poulter valley track where it intersects with the MTB/ATV track variant downstream of Fenwick Stream, and cross the Poulter (knee deep in normal flows but can flood quickly in heavy rain). Head up gravel flats in the lower Fenwick. Just as the Fenwick gorges out where the map shows riverside clearings ending, look for tape marking the start of the track on the northern bank.

A cut, tape-marked track mainly follows the spur running immediately north of Fenwick Stream. The track was cut by volunteers (Frank and Honora) but has been adopted by trappers with the Orange Fronted Parakeet predator tramping program and is not to DOC standard, but is easily followed (2019). The track ends at Ranger Biv.
