coming off the tops from pt1624, look for a spur east off the main ridge and a short marker pole above the bushline. Then look for an indistinct orange marker where the track starts at the bushline.

marked and newly cut track, steep climb to the tree line (1270m), we decided to look for a campsite below the tops as winds were high. If heading directly for the tops, just continue climbing to the main ridge around 1420m and either sidle to the north of climb to pt1624
