A cut track runs down the south side of the Crooked between Top Crooked Hut and Jacko Flat Hut. The track is maintained by DOC and was cut in 2015 - still good going in 2018. Initially the track is a mixture of cut track on scrubby flats and travel on the shingle riverbed. Lower down it climbs and sidles the valleyside to Jacko Flat.
