At present travel from Stony Stream Biv downriver is via the stream bed only. A start has been made on a cut track through flat behind the hut but (2019) this ends in thick scrub after 400m.

From the biv, follow this track to its highest point then cut across to the edge of the terrace where an animal trail is eventually encountered. Follow this down off the terrace to a grove of beech trees and drop to the stream and follow it down to the fork with the Edwards . Apart from an occasional dry flood channel travel is in the stream only with banks being tight and scrubby. Expect slow progress.

1-2 hrs
