Good travel follows the ridge line from Pt1132 up to the summit of Pt1242. From here and knife edge summit runs to the southwest and it is slightly easier travel about 5-10m off the ridge top until passed the 1120m contour.

Descend the pretty open ridge line all the way down to the valley floor, and cross Eyre Creek (knee deep) to pick up the 4wd track. This can be followed north for 15 minutes to reach Shepherds Creek Hut.

From Shepherds Creek Hut follow the 4wd track down river for about 15 minutes until opposite the obvious spur on the true right of Black Gorge. Ford Eyre Creek here (knee deep) and ascend the ridge which is predominately open with good travel.

Up at around the 1200m contour it is best to sidle just below the summit ridge which is knife like. Pt1242 lies just beyond. From here descend to the north and cross over the bump of Pt1127 to reach Pt1132.
