The tramping track between Venus and Crow huts is generally good going no flat river terraces with a few short sections on river rocks. All major sidecreeks are bridged.

Note that the bridge crossing the Karamea is 100m downstream of the track start on the southern bank, so when heading to Crow Hut, cross the bridge, then head 100m back upriver on the southern bank and pick up markers for the track to Crow Hut.
