From the summit of The Great Unknown, descend SW on the remnants of the Adverse Glacier to gain the broad ridge above Elizabeth Stream. Traverse W past pt 1898m, then descend the ridge past pt 1549m to reach the flat area of Elizabeth Stream. Climb slightly and then traverse to Redfield Stream. Descend Redfield Stream, there are several waterfalls to negotiate however there are rough foot trails around them all. On reaching the Perth, follow the river to the bridge and then follow the track to Scone Hut.
