To reach Rocks Ahead Hut from Rocks Ahead Biv, follow the marked track 50m downriver to the cableway. You can either take the hand-wound cage over the Ngaruroro River, or drop to the bed & ford it if flows are low-moderate. On the true left bank follow the track upstream for 50m to a large clearing housing the hut.

To reach Rocks Ahead Biv from Rocks Ahead Hut, head 50m downriver on the signposted track to the cableway. You can either take the hand-wound cage over the Ngaruroro River, or drop to the bed & ford it if flows are low-moderate. On the true right bank follow the track upstream for 50m as it climbs briefly to a large clearing housing the biv.
