Climb the ridge west of Bealey Spur Hut on a well defined but unmarked track, passing over pt1545. Where the ridge swings sharply SW, head just west of north, picking up the defined spur that tops the eastern face of Jordan stream, dropping towards the confluence of the Jordan and Waimakariri. Below the bushedge at 1400m the spur continues well defined with good game trails, hugging the top of the Jordan face.

At 1100m, the spur swings due west. Follow it at least 100m to pass the head of a stream which starts below, before dropping north through scrubby beech with few game trails. At about the 1000m contour the scrub passes and the spur becomes better defined again, and you can follow good game trails through open beech to the confluence. The tramping track up/down the Waimakariri is 150m beyond on the flats, marked with poles.
