Descending north down a short tussock face takes you to an easy walk along a broad, exposed shingle ridgeline from pt1715 to Rangioteatua, the next peak north. This is the junction of the main range route with the steep route up from Rangi Saddle (for Waterfall and Waikamakja Huts)
