From the track junction, head south along the 4WD track along Barnicoat Ridge. Passing pt789, and continuing another 500m a signposted track junction is reached where an MTB track and steep tramping track drop west into Poorman Valley / towards Marsden Road.

From the track junction 500, west of pt789, the vehicular track climbs NE with the ridgeline, passing pt789 and continuing to a signposted junction shown on maps. A new predator-proof fence starts here, and the tracks east and NW follow it, so the junction is obvious.
