The start of the Puffer Saddle route at pt756 can be hard to spot. There is a piece of permolat atop the bank marking it, but otherwise head to the summit and follow the ridgeline towards Puffer Saddle until you pick up the marked route.

The route is marked with an assortment of tape, tin lids, bags etc. It starts through mature bush on pt756, then follows the ridgeline north towards Puffer Saddle. As the ridge becomes scrubby, the track drops east and sidles the eastern face, before returning to the ridge as the scrub becomes low. It finally joins an old logging track and follows it to emerge onto the Dobson Loop Track at Puffer Saddle.
