From the end of the track, rock hop up to the bass of the avalanch debris chute, du east of Mt Hickson. Ascend the moss slopes to the NE of the snow, then onto the lee snow off the col. This was steep and deep soft powder. The col is best reached by keeping as far right. Its not the nicest of conditions. The pass itself is flat topped and slaty, once you get over the cornice. I believe the Moirs guide suggests a route, traversing north then descending the ridge NW off Baker Peak. Thats not the way i went. Instead picking a way down through the bluffs. Upon reaching the head of Kea Stream, drop to around the 1200m contour then traverse out to the true right to reach teh dry creekbed (thus avoiding falls in the main creek). Theres a small amount of bush bashing just before reachng the descent route. Once in regaining the creek its a straightforward rock hop to the landsborough.
