From Jubilee Hut drop down the marked track to the creek and cross it (ankle deep - ok in all but extreme flows). The marked tramping tramping track heads maybe 20m down the opposite bank before climbing the opposite valleyside. On the first knob it hits a fenceline and joins an old farm track climbing with the ridgeline to the first major summit. Soon after the track drops north off the ridge and splits. Orange markers on poles mark the walking track as it leaves the 4WD track, passes through a narrow wooden gate, and sidles gently towards the valley floor as it continues NE up the valley. The turnoff to ABC cave is 500m beyond the gate, and is signposted.

From ABC cave, drop back to the main benched track and follow it SW as it gently climbs the valleyside, reaching the ridgeline after 500m. A good farm track follows the ridgeline SW, desending over pt538 before reaching a farm gate. The walking track leaves the farm track here, remaining on the south of the fence, and drops a spur to hit the river below Jubilee Hut - visible opposite. The river is generally ankle deep and crossable in all but extreme conditions. A short steep climb up the far valleyside leads to the hut, which has been rebuilt in this sunny location in 2007 to replace to old valley floor hut.
