Mountain Track Road is closed to public vehicles north of Walker Road, but open to walkers / cyclists. An easy walk on a metaled forestry road leads from the PJ Cox turnoff, 1km south to the signposted turnoff to the Rongomai Track - the first forestry track you will meet to the east of the road.
