From North Col climb east up tussock slopes until under bluffs. A rocky slope drops down into a large gully (full of snow January 2017) which is climbed up on scree slopes under bluffs. Continue climbing to the east, keeping under the bluffs all the way up the gully. Continue climbing steadily until the obvious main ridge line is reached, with spectacular views north and south. To climb Nereus Peak properly you will need an ice axe and crampons to head straight up the permanent steep snow slopes south of the peak. Return to North Col the same way you came up.
