Leaving Harman Hut the pack-track is broad and well maintained. Zigzag down into a gorge, clamber a boulder on aluminium ladders to reach a long swingbridge spanning the deep slot of the river. Beyond, the track stretches out down-valley, cut into the hillside on a carefully surveyed constant ascent. The track sidles the face through scrubby low bush, swings into sidecreek draining the Styx Saddle, where a signpost marks the junction with the Styx - Arahura circuit.

From the signposted junction east of Styx Saddle, the Browning Pack Track sidles the western face of the Arahura valley to Harman Hut. The old benched route is still in good condition, well cut and well marked. 500m from the hut, the track crosses a deep slot gorge on a long swingbridge to reach a large boulder which you descend from on an aluminium ladder. From here a series of zigzags take you up to a terrace between Harman FCreek and the Awahura creeks where Harman Hut sits in a boggy basin.
