Skills:
From behind the sign on the left hand side of the road, head east up into the bush for 20 metres until you see the first orange triangle, which indicate the 'main' track along the ridge. There's a multitude of other coloured triangles along the ridge, which represent various trapping lines. After 30-40 minutes of climbing the ridge flattens out, albeit briefly, before climbing to a further flat area in a NE-E direction after another 15 minutes. From this point on you are on the ridge proper, continuing to head east. Amongst the proliferation of triangles is a junction (with no sign) marked by two orange triangles. Turn left & sidle along the track at about the 620m contour for 5-7 minutes, crossing an unmarked stream & finally climbing up to the hut. The hut has an unlocked 4-bunk room (with mattresses) joined to the locked biodiversity hut. The exterior of the hut is beautifully painted in various biodiversity species. A water tank is accessible.
