From sign at Wooden Peg, head south following poled route. These poles are hard to spot at times, and lead through deep tussock with holes/ trenches. It's a matter of picking your way carefully down the Eastern side of the ridge, keeping a careful eye out for the poles. Once the track drops into the bush it's well cut and easy to follow.
