Descending from Lucia includes negotiating a few rocky outcrops but then tTravel along the range becomes easy (in good weather) and the climb to Mephistopheles mostly gradual. The ridge connecting this peak with Faust is generally straightforward but there are a couple of rocky ribs to cross where care is advised.

From Faust, continue along the ridgetops, descending with actively eroding slops to the W and multiple tarns (of dubious water quality, judging by the colours) to the E to 1549. A good camp and tarns can be reached by descending a grassy slope.

Climb up to the ridgeline and continue climbing N to Faust (1712m). From the N peak, descend into the gap, negotiate 2 rocky ribs with care and begin the climb to Mephistopheles (1736m).

A generally gentle descent off Mephisto then easy walking along the range until a couple of rocky outcrops begin the climb to Mt Lucia - but not difficult.
