The route from Top Tuke Hut is marked / cairned to about 1700m, up the 3rd spur east of the hut.

From Top Tuke drop down the marked route to the sidecreek east of the hut and pick up sparse triangle markers sidling upstream just north of the Tuke River. These markers swing east between the 3rd and 4th sidecreek upriver of the hut, and climb the narrow spur between the two creeks towards Mt Beaumont. The route is marked with occasional triangles to about 1400m and a few cairns above that. Joining the main ridgeline at 1700m, follow the spur SE. It is necessary at one point around 1800m to drop north off the spur onto the base of the scree faces of Mt Beaumont then make a sidling ascent back onto the spur some 200m later on the obvious line. Once back on the spur it is a straight forward ascent to the broad flat summit of Mt Beaumont where there is permanent snow/ice.

This is a straight forward ascent, if steep in places, with no exposure or technical sections in summer conditions.

2-4 hrs
