Follow the 4WD track (closed to vehicles) east from the DOC carpark at Lake Emily for a further 800m to the signposted Manuka Hut turnoff. 2km of tramping track climbs ENE over a low spur and drops to join the 4WD track in the Stour. A further 1km north the turnoff to Manuka Hut is signposted - tucked 300m east of the main track behind a spur. A single creek crossing is required just before the hut - ankle deep in normal flows. 1-2 hrs
