From Mt Bealey, follow the ridgeline towards Pt 1778. This is the most difficult part of the traverse. The ridgeline is narrow and on crumbly rock with decent exposure. I opted to sidle under some of the sketchier parts of the ridge, but for people confident on their feet in good conditions it would be a lovely alpine ridge traverse on the tops.
From pt 1778, the ridge widens significantly and it is a cruisy traverse to Lyell Peak
