This is a route from 6 foot track to the track to Te Pua. If your coming from the South it will allow you to skip out some pretty major slips on 6 foot track. The start of the track is marked with some pink tape in the tree. It's pretty easy going up the ridge, when you get up to 848 you will see a trap line marked with yellow markers and permalot. The permalot continues to the South and is the old high route to Mangatoetoe Hut.
