Tussock and rock ridgeline route with one exposed scramble west of pt1646.

Follow good tussock tops west to pt1646. The descent to the saddle with pt1631 is very steep and exposed to falls and requires downclimbing two steep tussock faces just south of the main ridgeline. An ixe-axe is recommended (was required by me) for support descending this section.

Pt1631 can be passed on the summit, but pt1671 must be bypasseed to the north. Once past pt1671 head through the V saddle south of the next unnumbered highpoint and sidle the scree face to the next saddle east. The remained of the distance to Craig Peak can be traveled on the ridgeline, or just south of it. Sections are knife-edge with serious falls.

2-4 hrs
