From Kiwi Saddle Hut the track south climbs 300m through pockets of clay-pans & fine gravel on the west side of the ridge marked intermittently with cairns & poles to the unnamed summit & the junction with the Cameron Hut track. The climb is steady; not too steep on solid, fine stone. There are good views to be had to the west into the catchment below & further westward.
