About 30m west of Pinnacle Biv, a pole shows the start of a reasonably well-defined route accross the Toaroha Range. Although there's no more poles, the route is generally easy to follow along the ridge-crest. Whenever you're crossing broad/open terrain it is indistinct, but easy to pick up again when the range narrows.

Traverse Genoa Peak (good tarns and camping spots near the summit and in the basins to the southeast), then climb some steeper, narrower sections on via tussock and scrub ribs. The north west ridge of Mt Reeves is the crux, with some exposure, and one quite steep scrub climb up a short bluff.

The foot pad generally shows the best way, no doubt originally a deer trail!

Coming off Reeves, descend a scree gully just to the east of the main south-west ridge (which is too steep to easily descend).

Of note, as of May 2024, the route between Adventure Biv and Top Kokatahi Hut is incorrectly positioned. (We've sent the actual data to LINZ and DOC, so hopefully future editions of the basemap will be correct!) The line as drawn here ends at the GPS position of the large metal pole on the route.
