From No Mans Road, the Ruahine Hut sideroad heads north, descending to a stream. After crossing it (small, should not pose problems) the road climbs and swings east, emerging into a large grass clearing at Ruahine Hut.

From Ruahine Hut, the 4wd road heads east, before dropping south to a small stream (easily crossed). A 300m gentle climb follows to the junction with No Mans Road.
