The river track starts on the south bank of the Wainuiomata River at the bridge. It is surfaced with gravel, and is flat all the way to Skerrets Creek. The walk starts through parkland on the river bank, passes along side sports fields, before returning to the riverbank to Skerrets Creek. It turns right up Skerrets to hit the roadend on the west side of the sidecreek at the old cemetery.
