This marks the spot where you begin the descent from the large basin north of Emily Pass into Emily Creek for the descent to the Routeburn Track. There is limited exposed camping 3-400m to the east in the bowl of the basin. Do not attempt to descend from the basin through the trees, as all routes down to the east of the route shown here will bluff out.
