The 6 foot track lives up to its name - a 6` wide roadway carved into the hillside, meandering where the contours take it. It wakes over 3km to cover 1.5km as the crow flies from the Paetawa track junction to Makomako hut - but it is easy flat going. Makomako Hut is off the east side of the track in a large clearing at a saddle. The track bypasses it, but the clearing is obvious.
