From the Omarukokere Biv turn off the route remains on the exposed open Spion Kop tops & swings SE towards pt. 1383. South of this high point is an un-named high point where the route swings east & drops to the bush edge. The route skirts along the bush edge & then enters the bush proper where a well-travelled track quickly develops. The track swings SE & descends steeply to Rocks Ahead Biv. The middle & lower sections of the track down through the bush was dominated by windfall (July, 2018) of which DOC are aware.
