Travel up the Rakaia river crossing Reischek Stream. Just after the stream from Meins Knob the rough Glenfalloch Route is marked. Follow this steeply up to the saddle south of Meins Knob. The route is sparsely marked (at least in 2011) after the saddle but is followable to the riverbed and then easy travel to Lyell Hut.
