Reasonably straight forward walk with a good pace possible down a track starting on river flats, quickly requiring crossing of deep pools off the main river, and with occasional climbs above bluffs. The last part is fairly tedious through a dairy farm. Stick to the marked track rather than take one of the numerous road through the dairy farm. Stopped at Mataki Ledge for a pickup.
