Fairly open bush on the TR of the river which drains into the head of Cascade Cove. Cross an old trapping track with blue markers (I'm told this is a good route to the tops toward Pt980. Cross a stream and get onto the ridge heading to Mt Bradshaw. This is open bush, easily ascended. After a flat area between Pts 823 & 727, there is a band of nasty leatherwood & bogpine scrub for about 80 metres. Beyond this is a simple ascent of the NW ridge of Bradshaw through tussock and some boot-high alpine scrub
