Tataweka Hut is a standard-looking 6-bunk NZFS hut, though with corrugated walls, suggesting it is an early or non-standard build. Inside, 2 of the usual 6 bunks are missing, leaving a large space on one wall, and instead the remaining 2 sets of bunks are stacked 3 high. As with most Waioeka Huts, there are frequently possumers in residence, and from hut book comments, many seem to regard the hut as theirs. Unfortunate - coming from a possumer myself - and reflecting badly on us all.
There is tank water and a fire.
