Otaki Forks sits at the end of the Otaki Gorge Road. It features a picnic area, caretaker's residence (with emergency phone), and the start of several great tracks. The Otaki Forks DOC campsite lies 2km further upriver and Parawai Hut 500m away on the opposite bank.

Access is along Otaki Gorge Road - the first turn east south of the Otaki RIver bridge on SH1 at Otaki. The road is narrow, winding and graveled.
