Follow the often-dry gravel riverbed of the Lawrence upstream. Lawrence Hut sits on the western bank about 1km above Shingly Stream. Maps at least up to 2009 show the hut in the wrong place - it is tucked beyond a tongue of beech on broad terraces, 500m above the location shown on maps. The blue marker on this site is correct.
