A 4WD track crosses the Havelock 400m upstream from the western side of the Clyde, and was an obvious crossing point (2007). Reasonable in low flows, still a serious crossing. I lost my footing and got swept some distance - a cautionary tale.

Once across, follow the western bank upriver to the confluence with the Lawrence.

Should you need to cross, a viable crossing point with multiple braids existed just above the confluence in 2007. Another serious crossing with flows knee to thigh deep.

Braided sections above Clyde/Lawrence confluence made a possible crossing in low flows (2007), but tricky in anything higher. Channels were knee-to-thigh deep in low flows.

Follow the Clyde river flats on the western bank to confluence with the Havelock.
