From Worsley Biv, head down the southern bank of the Poulter. Cross Trudge Stream after 500m - There is a rocky bar currently at the outlet where the stream is at its broadest. At low flows it is possible to use this and keep your boots dry! The stream could be an issue to cross after rain.

Continue down the southern bank on broad gravel flats for a further 1.5km to the Minchin confluence. If you wish to visit Poulter Hut, cross the Poulter above the confluence, once again using a shallow bar (shin deep in low-normal flows, easily impassable after rain) and cross the Minchin braids to a section of matagouri where there is currently an orange marker and shortly beyond this, a long upright waratah standard. For those continuing downriver, the crossing is not required.
