A steep bluffy face dominates the head of the Poulter below Worsley Pass, and this must be bypassed to reach the pass from below.
From Worsley Biv, head up the Poulter, crossing Enchanted Stream. Immediately after crossing the stream, a tape-marked track starts through the forest on the true right (western) bank.
The rough cut, tape-marked track heads through scrubby marshy flats and climbs the scrubby spur north of Enchanted Stream. The track is vague in places, with 2 white standards, cairns and tape being all you have to follow in open sections - but well cut through the scrubby bits. At about 1140m the track turns off the spur and sidles NW along the face before dropping to the flats at Worsley Pass.
The flats are very boggy and scrubby and slow, tiring travel. Options are boggy tall tussock or scrubby dry riverbed. The forks with Chasm Creek are reached after about 1km, with the geographic pass summit a couple of hundred meters beyond.
