A very steep climb through tussock to pt 1625 (a sidle below the summit not recommended) then follow the ridge down into the saddle, over pt 1484, and into a saddle below pt 1662. From here, sidle under pt 1662 and regain the ridge at pt 1524. Now continue along the ridge, over a few rocky knolls and either go over pt 1624 or sidle below on the north. Descend the main NE spur until 1400m then drop east to a minor spur and look for pole (and marker at treeline) for the start of a marked track. Note - shown here is a diversion to a campsite below the tops.

Either sidle pt 1624 or go over the top. Once on the main ridge, an easy stroll across a few rocky knolls leads to pt 1524 and a sidle, on the north, under pt 1662, into a saddle (in the mist, looking back at pt 1662, a gendarme appears to block the ridge off pt 1662). It's an easy walk over pt 1484. We sidled under pt 1625 but it's steep and unstable. Better to climb to near the summit and pick up the obvious (steep) spur leading down to the biv. Pick your way down avoiding the many holes.
