Cross the creek (ankle-knee deep) and head up the side valley west of Top Timaru Hut either int he open beech or sidling the bushedge on the southern face. At forks follow the gentler middle fork of the creek NW to the easy saddle at pt1600. Descend the north side of the saddle on low tussock to reach easy sidling 1-200m above the bushedge and sidle west to the spur just beyond Mae West Biv. The spur can be descended on good deer trails to the bushedge. Mea West Biv is hidden just below the bushline 60m east of the spur.
