Maps show a track climbing to Moonlight & Roses hut from Chamois creek - however this had not been cut or marked for many years in 2011.

From the main forks in Chamois Creek (or 200m below it if coming from downriver) climb the obvious spur west and then sidle up the western fork keeping just in open beech forest just below the bushedge to reach Moonlight and Roses Hut. If not under snow if may be easier to climb and sidle tussock faces above the bush.
