Note: Described in the reverse direction to your journey
Climb steeply through low tussock from the head of the Camp Creek track towards pt1408. The gradient lessens at about 1000m. It is not necessary to ascend pt1408 - sidle east below the steep faces of the peak at 1200-1250m and regain the ridgeline before pt1507. There are occasional cairns. The ridgeline can then be followed on tussock and increasingly scree to the ridge intersection 200m west of Camp Peaks. To access the summit it is necessary to sidle to southern face of Camp Peaks and cut back onto the ridgeline at the summit. 2-3 hrs
