Note: Described in the reverse direction to your journey
Find a good ford through the South Butler, a flood destroyed the new bridge within 6 months (Oct 2014). Follow a well cleared trail up valley on the true left (enjoy the views of large boulders in the river) until the open ground is reached. Beware avalanches in winter and spring but the travel is easy to the lake.
